Monday February 21 7:00 p.m. Bread Baking Contest.  Make your favorite bread, bun, roll, muffin, quick bread, etc.
Saturday March 18 9:30 a.m. Pancake Breakfast:  Really Great Food Company Pancakes, sausage, juice and coffee.
Monday April 17 7:00 p.m. New Members - Questions and Answers
Saturday May 20 9:30 a.m. Discuss formation of a Hospital & Home Care Committee.  Make plans for the picnic.

No meeting in June

Saturday July 15 Noon GF Picnic at shelter #4 at Crow Creek Park on Devils Glenn Road, Bettendorf, Iowa. BBQ beef and GF bun provided.  Please bring a gluten-free salad, side dish or dessert to share.  Bring your own drink and table service.  Please RSVP to Becky (listed below).  Bring your family.  Bingo.  Friendship.  All gluten-free food!

Annual Celiac Informational Meeting

Directions:  From the I-80/I-380 interchange near Iowa City, go south on highway 218, take the third exit (Airport - Riverside Drive) - it will head north, the fairgrounds is on the left.

Lodging:  There are two motels on Riverside Drive - Airline Motel (319-353-9643) and Alexis Inn (319-337-8665).  They are one block apart and about six blocks north of the fairgrounds.

7:30 - 9:00  Registration and Food Fair, $15 (first adult), $5 (additional family members).  Children under 12 - free.  Please pre-register by September 25 - Call Betty Bast at 319-352-4740.
9:00 - 9:30 Diana Hartman, demonstration, "Dinner Rolls and Hamburger Buns".  Diana has the "Gluten-Free Delights Bakery" in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
9:30 - 10:00 Mark Matheis, demonstration - making a chocolate cake, "Baking with Alternative Flours and Gums".  Mark will soon be opening the "M and P Gluten-Free Bakery". 
10:00 - 11:30 Speakers and discussion groups.  Parents and celiac children will meet upstairs.  Other adults will meet downstairs.
11:30 - 12:00  Meal preparation
12:00 - 1:00 Noon meal - hot dish by Barbara Ann Miller and Ruth Graber
1:15 - 2:15 Dr. James A. Goeken, professor of pathology and Director of the Immunopathology Laboratory at the Univ. of Iowa, "Autoimmune Diseases and Diagnosis"
2:15 - 3:15 Bev Clearman, dietitian from the Celiac Clinic at the Univ. of Iowa, "Answers to Dietary Questions"
